VINAY KUMAR DADHWAL

ABOUT ME
Hello, my name VInay Kumar Dadhwal. I share my journey of more than four decades of learning geospatial applications, of the expert colleagues who guided me on this website. You may find things of your interest and even use. Additionally, you may like to collaborate and co-create new in diverse areas of geospatial applications and biogeochemical cycle of carbon for India.

Do you share interest in any of the current areas I am interested. I would be glad to collaborate and co-create new ‘Geospatial Learning’. The broad research themes are listed below and you may either follow provided links or search in our publications. Of course, you may send a mail to the link below.

Land Transformation &Trajectories of India prior to the satellite remote sensing era. This theme explores use of historical topographic and other spatial information as well as administrative records to look at forests, agriculture, urban dynamics. Generic as well as commodity (e.g. Tea) or activity (e.g. railways) specific drivers are also of interest. Evaluation of historical gridded data and their harmonization with new results also interests me.
Forest dynamics including tree loss and gain, forest type mapping, plantations types, areas and age, structural attributes as height, drives of forest loss (anthropogenic and natural), forest refprestation, recovery and changes in invasive species in the forest. Using remote sensing and field information. Forest utilization for resource extraction including non-timber forest produce.
